Really good information Martin. We should have had this site up and running years ago. Just looking through my sales information and came across the following: In 2008 Elvis had the most albums in the UK Top 10,000 - (63) - followed by Johnny Cash (53), Bob Dylan (45) and David Bowie and Frank Sinatra (33 each). Interestingly, the 10,000th best-selling album sold 690 copies. Also please note the following details of the first week sales for the 2007 UK Singles Campaign: Suspicious Minds - 10,440 (22,536 by Dec.2007) Blue Suede Shoes - 9247 Hound Dog - 9462 Teddy Bear - 8866 Party - 9069 Don't - 8716 Hard Headed Woman - 9006 King Creole - 8974 A Big Hunk O' Love - 8894 Wear My Ring Around Your Neck- 8822 If I Can Dream - 9274 Viva Las Vegas - 9001 In The Ghetto - 9277 You Don't Have To Say You Love Me - 8794 Always On My Mind - 9013 An American Trilogy - 9096 Burning Love - 9033. A single release of 'My Baby Left Me'/'One Sided Love Affair' plus bonus video track 'Don't Be Cruel' (live from Tupelo on September 26th ,1956) was released by the Memphis Recording Service on August 20th, 2007 and got to #19 in the UK Charts selling some 6531 copies in its first week. This was not part of the Sony BMG Singles Campaign. The 'Rubberneckin' single release in the UK sold 21,116 copies in its first week (September, 2003). The '50 Greatest Love Songs' album sold 220,000 copies in the UK by March, 2002. The '50 Greatest Hits' album sold 700,000 copies in the UK by March, 2002. On the 2007 UK singles chart, Elvis ranks at #27 with sales of 328,373 units. On the 2007 DVD Chart, Elvis is listed at#21 with the NBC '68 Comeback Special and #27 with 'The King Of Rock 'n' Roll compilation. It looks as though Elvis is going to have the most Top 20 singles in the UK chart this decade. This is how the tally stood at April, 2009: 1. Elvis - 39 2. Britney Spears - 20 3. Girls Aloud - 19 4. Sugababes - 19 5. Westlife - 18 6. Eminem - 17 7. McFly - 16. Whilst not having sales figures for 'Elvis Is Back' in the UK it is interesting to note that it entered the Singles Chart at No.20 going up to a high of 16 the following week - July 22nd, 1960. It then slowly receded. However, the sales must have been great. Brian

Statement made on the official UK BMG Website dated 10th July, 2000 - 15,000 copies of 'Platinum' sold in the UK.
Also a statement made by Sony BMG in 'Music Week' (the 'Billboard' of the UK) following the release of 'Artist Of The Century' Box Set - "there were 45,000 box sets sold in the UK and the Elvis 'Artist Of The Century' set was a dominant seller".

Neal,
Yes, they're from the Hendrickx book. But I'm afraid that I don't have the book - The "Hendrickx' figures" was posted on UKmix for a long time ago. I you want, I can post them here.

If you wanna hold off on posting those numbers (I have them but I still want the book), I am working on a UK list that combines chartings and sales. I will post it here; it will stir more than a little interest. . .
Rockahula baby!

MARTIN & CO.
Bye the bye, anyone know of a good site that has a list of all Elvis' UK releases? Googling this stuff drives me bonkers: seems every nitwit selling CDs thinks their site has a d"discography". . .

PS. I’m currently working on Elvis' Norwegian singles-sales. Will post the result as soon as I'm finished.

Using Hendryckz --who does not seem as inflated as he initially did when I first saw his figures-- and a few other sources along with some estimations, I arrive at approximately 24,000,000 singles sold in the UK with about three dozen records --mostly posthumous releases-- uncounted (and I hesitate to make a guess).

UK Decade-end charts:
Best-selling Album Artists: #14 - Elvis Presley 5,728,071
Best-selling Singles Artists: #27 - Elvis Presley
By Music Week:
The Beatles’ tally of 24 Top 200 entries was beaten by two artists – both of them January 6 babies. David Bowie had 27 chart entries and Elvis Presley had 29. Presley – who also had the second most Top 200 singles (43, compared to Michael Jackson’s 85) – had the edge on sales, too, finishing in 14th place with 5,728,071 sales, while Bowie is 50th with 3,390,394.

March 01st MRS MAKES HISTORY FOR ELVIS, AGAIN - ELVIS PRESLEY has for the first time entered the UK Indie Album charts.
'Off Duty With Private Presley' is a new entry at #22, the album & 100 page book has also made the Top 200 UK overall Album Chart.
MRS originally had a #1 for Elvis in the UK Indie chart for 4 weeks a few years ago with ‘My Baby Left Me’ and also got into the national overall Single chart in the Top 20.
Joseph Pirzada from MRS said this, "Thanks to all the Elvis fans, dealers and the MRS team for this achievement. This is truly one of the best projects we have done in recent years." MRS – Always making history!! PS: More history in the making coming very soon.
From the Elvis Express Radio Website.

1977 - the month after his death, Elvis Presley had 27 albums and nine singles in the Top 100 charts in the U.K. Moody Blue was the #1 album, while “Way Down” was #1 on the singles chart. Brian

It's the law of undulation, there will be ups and down in sales. In another 10 - 15 years there will be another spike, as there's a new generation, it depends also on marketing, if there continues to be a good marketing, there will continue to be great sales over the years.

The following was posted by MJDangerous on the Haven Website on 22nd December, 2011, in response to a query regarding Christmas Album sales in the UK: "Obviously a figure concerning Elvis Christmas Album can only be speculation, nothing else. During most of its life it was excluded from charts because it was a budget album (from early 70s), making it nearly impossible to get its sales from specific years. We barely know it charted at #2 in 1957, #7 in 1971 and used to chart most years Christmas' on Budget charts. Plus, we know it shipped enough to get a Silver award for its shipment during the 1975 Xmas season. From 2003 to now Elvis has been averaging over 60,000 sales (estimated) for his Christmas albums (all together) per season in UK (over 250,000 in the US for a year without a new package, 26 million Xmas albums sold since 1957 including half for his first Xmas album). The question now is how many copies Christmas Album has been averaging in UK during the last 55 holiday seasons. Considering it shipped large amounts in 71 and 75 at least, surely in 77 as well, plus steady but strong amounts every year up to 2003 (when it was mainly replaced by other albums with a similar tracklist), I can't imagine anything under the 10k yearly mark." For information. Brian
